Applied Nutrition Natural Fat Burner Pills

Posted by isabel on January 15th, 2007 under Weight Loss

I’ll start with the bottom line: I lost two pounds in the week that I used this product, and I only worked out twice, for twenty minutes each time. I also ate a lot of junk. But I still lost two pounds, which I accredit to these pills.

I bought them on an impulse - I was browsing my local grocery’s diet products section, and this caught my eye. It claims to be made of “100% Pure & Powerful Concentrated Extracts”:

“Liquid Soft-Gel Natural Fat Burner supports your weight loss efforts in a targeted, holistic approach - utilizing some of nature’s most effective fruit and tea extracts. This unique all natural approach means you do not have to worry about the effect synthetic compounds could have on your body. This all natural weight loss support, when combined with a healthy reduced calorie diet and exercise plan, will assist you in achieving your goals. It contains a specialized key ingredient combination for targeted results. Green Tea extract with EGCGs supports energy expenditure and fat oxidation.

  • Pomegranate Juice extract has been shown to have potent antioxidant activity protecting nitric oxide and acting as a detoxifier.
  • Cranberry has traditionally been used for its diuretic properties.
  • Blueberry can support water weight management by assisting in the replacement of potassium in the body.
  • Cinnamon & Grapefruit extracts assist in sugar support.
  • Noni Juice extract from the powerful Tahitian fruit.”

While I can’t say for sure if it was actual ‘fat loss’ or simply water weight, I’m leaning towards water weight. I had previously been using a ‘total body cleanse’ system that left me more backed up & bloated than before (and yes, you’ll get a scathing review of it soon), but as soon as I began using the Natural Fat Burner pills, it all went away. I felt lighter than I had in quite awhile, and my abdomen looked flatter.I also experienced an energy boost when I took the pills, which helped me to have the energy & motivation to actually be somewhat active. Due to my work schedule, I wasn’t able to work out every day, but I had the energy and desire to - which is unusual for me; I’m normally constantly tired and workout out sounds like the least fun thing to do, ever.

Unlike other diet pills that I’ve tried, this one didn’t upset my stomach or make me feel nauseated - which I greatly appreciated. So many other pills use stimulants that that leave my heart racing, head pounding, and stomach turning. I experienced no such side effects this time.

Overall, while they’re not really all that cheap - $10 for a week’s supply if you take the full dose of 4 pills a day, as I did - they are effective and give you a nice, energized & cleansed feel. If you’re contemplating buying these, you have my encouragement!

Visit Applied Nutrition for a free three-day sample (as well as included free CD-ROMs and coupons, I think they’re really trying to build some brand loyalty here!) of the Natural Fat Burner or any of their other products.

Crunch Fitness Candlelight Yoga DVD

Posted by isabel on January 9th, 2007 under Weight Loss

Crunch Fitness Candlelight Yoga has been a staple of mine whenever I’m actually doing a decent job at working out consistently & being healthy. It’s actually the DVD that got me into yoga, and a lot of that has to do with instructor Sara Ivanhoe’s wonderful teaching style. She explains all the postures and movements well without being patronizing or annoying, and has developed a wonderful, relaxing program that you’ll never get bored with. I love doing this as my cool-down after a tough workout, or just to get the kinks out after a long day at work. It’s gentle enough for beginners, yet once you’ve gotten really flexible, it’s still challenging because she shows you different versions of the postures.

The postures and “Vinyasa flow” will gently tone your body while improving your flexibility - so this is an absolutely wonderful DVD if you’ve never done yoga, or if you’re just looking to supplement your current collection with a new, soothing, relaxing program.

The DVD also includes a supplemental 15-minute energizing routine that you can to do begin your day or as a pre-workout warmup. Either way, it really does wake your body up and it’s a great way to relieve any stress from sleeping funny or working too hard! Sara also gives you a tiny introduction to “mudra”, or yogic hand signals in this section - namely, she shows you the mudra that is supposed to help keep your mind focused & your body energized.

If you like to listen to your own playlist while you workout (as I do), the DVD also gives you the option to toggle the audio options. You can pick from the basic audio track that includes Sara’s instructions and their own soothing soundtrack, or you can choose the instructor-only track when you want to listen to your own music, or just focus on your breathing.

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this DVD - I’ve had it for five years and still don’t get bored with it. I lend it to all my friends who want to try yoga, so I definitely recommend it to anyone out there who wants to try yoga, needs a good stretching/flexibility routine, or just wants to soothe their body and relax!

Total runtime is 60 minutes. Not Rated.
